My first vacation resort in Afghanistan. I learned a lot about the local hospitality, as well as the many sites that Afghanistan had to offer. Out of the 12+ vacation spots I have visited throughout the country, this is the one I always tell stories about.

The weather can be blitzy at times but decent overall. The locals are a little rough around the edges and the local food is a bit hit or miss. Great views and the hard-stands are a nice touch.

Highly recommend if you are looking to scout for the next UFC fighter. Kids are a bit malnourished but throw them a box of pop tarts and I promise you will see a fight of a lifetime. Also if you happen to find a boy by the name of “Peanut” with gauze wrapped around his head tell him Mike Tyson is sorry.

If you like fried chicken every night, then the chowhall is for you. Gym was on point, though the cables broke and were never replaced with anything but 550 cord. The locals were sketchy af, and tended to shoot at you just because. The shopkeepers could get you just about anything you asked for, though, and the range was pretty sweet. Got to shoot as much as you wanted for free!

Great views and the food could be worse. The COP has a fair amount of stand-off from the mountains, so the majority of contact taken is indirect fire. If you want a gunfight you may need to head north up the Watapur or west deeper into the Pech River Valley.
