Al Casa Veranda Hotel • Mzes

The experience at the hotel was a nice one. The owners were pleasant and professional. The room was spotless. They had water 24 hours a day. Small fridge with ice cold water, air conditioning and heat. Excellent WiFi. Entering from the back has a most impressive clean atmosphere of brilliant shiny floors to crisp white paint and beautiful stairway with good lighting. A negative in the bathroom was the water from our sink was leaking all over the floor. The shower is built like many Albanian showers which just hits the floor which ends up getting tracked all over the room. All the work that went into making this little economic hotel one of the best around was lost in the bathroom and lacked a bidet. The bidet is common in Europe but in all fairness this is very economical place to stay. Not really a negative at all. I did not see anything unsightly driving into the Varanda Hotel. A brick drive way with private parking, well groomed bushes and CLEAN. No trash... The surrounding area from the windows overlooks a village area with cows and roosters. Really pretty. The balcony is shared and parapet very short, not a place for children. The road into the hotel had several manhole covers missing both in the center of the road and on the edge. This was just about the most dangerous and stressful road, not even a warning. The hotel is outside the flight pattern of the airport but still has moderate noise. The Lana River is about 2.5 kilometers from the hotel which is the source of stink. I would stay here again and recommend it. It’s definitely worth staying here to avoid staying in the Tirana mess.
