Discover Albania

Did a hike with this “company” to the mountain of Bukaniku. At the mountain top the guides left and did not even tell us. Luckily we found another group managed by a different company and were able to get down. When we called them on the phone they were surprised we were missing. They did not even realize that after 1 hour 2 people were missing. For foreigners it is hard to get lost in these areas. Please be safe and use another company!!!

Traveling late in September, we were unable to join a group trip, but the professionals at Discover Albania made our two-week, customized exploration of Albania amazing. This country offers amazing diversity with something for every traveler, whether you are looking for rugged hiking in the sparsely used Albanian Alps, relaxing by any number of pristine coves in the Ionian Sea, wine tasting, or horseback riding. The people are friendly and accommodating, but there can be some language challenges for those who only speak English. The food is natural, tasty, plentiful, and very affordable. I cannot speak to how busy things are normally as this is the year of COVID and we ventured out as the “season” was ending. For us the timing was perfect as it provided great weather and we avoided any major congestion (other than getting into and out of Tirana). Special thanks to Ismail and Piro who guided our customized adventures in the north and south respectively.

This is a fraudulent organization that runs airbnbs. They post false pictures and offer false amenities. They forgot to leave us keys and we had to wait an hour to obtain them. They also gave us a studio with no kitchen and no netflix connection as advertised. The apartment was not cleaned at all, which is concerning given covid. It is unacceptable and dishonest. I would not trust them.
