Erlinda was the perfect hostess, teacher and chef. From the minute we met her at the local market, she was warm and friendly - giving us precious insights into not only Balinese food, but the culture and religious aspects of this beautiful society, too. The cooking class was wonderfully prepared and presented in Erlinda’s own subtropical paradise. The countless dishes we made, were eaten for lunch - so many wonderful flavour combinations and ideas to take home! Markus (Erlinda’s husband), was the perfect host and we felt like long lost friends.

The Mexx cooking school is amazing, Erlinda and her wonderful team of local ladies guide you step by step from the market experience of shopping for our ingredients, a convenient pick up by friendly and punctual driver at our hotel. The location is stunning, gorgeous building with well appointed kitchen, cooking stations for 6 guests (2per station) the information given prior to beginning is very informative about ingredients and equipment, you really feel the staff here have a love of the recipes and food that they share with you. The entire experience was pure joy from start to finish, cooking 10-15 dishes depending on your choice of half day or full day course, ending in beautifully presented meals that we cooked and sitting down on the long verandah at communal table eating all of our dishes together with gorgeous views and the breeze outside. This is the 2nd time ive done this class.Had an amazing time once again.Erlinda is the best and we had so much fun with our girls that helped.Totally recommend

Excellent day, from the local market for the fresh produce, the beautiful location amongst the rice fields, the personal cooking stations, perfect amount of hands on cooking through to the amazingly presented fruits of you labours enjoyed on the veranda. All the staff were so friendly. Could not recommend highly enough.
