Little Imperial Palace

During my stay in Sabah, I had passed by the shop several times, and finally, compelled by strong curiosity, I decided to drop by. Upon entering, my spirit was perked up by a unique herbal fragrance which was soothingly resinous and smoky.The interior , traditionally furnished, exuded some profound scholarly, Taoist charms, setting it apart from others. Despite my untutored eyes, I could tell that the collectibles on display, including different types of myrrh, were rare and of excellent quality. The proprietor and his friends were friendly and polite, explaining with minutest details the use of everything that had caught my fancy. My chief interest was a ceramic aromatic burner, as well as two kinds of ground herbs, whose fragrance I have mentioned in the early part of this review. However, I don't seem to have done it enough justice. To be spot-on with my comment, the fragrance had an ancient, anachronistic touch to it, and it seemed to penetrate every fibre of my being, plucking at my heartstrings and evoking some unknown memories which seemed very distant yet hauntingly familiar. I could sense certain parts within my body being cleansed, a very divine experience, reminding me of the mysterious past, the time when Earth had just been created. The herbs, according to the proprietor, have been used as incense in temples for thousands of years, held in high esteem by all religions. My heart really yearned for it, believing that it could restore the vivacity of both my physical and mental health, and despite the high prices, I did not think twice to get the whole combo. Now, back in Miri, my bedroom feels totally different with the fragrance. It warms my body and improves my breathing. For the first time in one month, I could wake up early, having more hours to do my work. Thank you, Little Imperial Palace. In hindsight, the burner and herbs are not expensive, a steal in regards to the revitalizing effects they have on me.
