Bukit Banang Golf & Country Club

Just played a few rounds at the Club with the missus. We were very very surprised by the drastically improved conditions! The greens were rolling true and fast (10.5 to 11.0?), compared to a year or so ago, when it was slow, patchy and bumpy. The fairway conditions have improved significantly as well, making the course very playable. Other than some patches of wild boar digs at certain areas of the rough, I don't recall seeing any at all on the fairways any more. The rough remains difficult, and some areas are patchy/damaged. It is buggy on course, so it can be a bumpy ride at times. All in all, after being disappointed by the poor fairway and greens condition over the past couple of years, we are now very excited play here regularly. Bukit Banang is a very well designed course, with an interesting and challenging layout, made perhaps a little harder with a high course (72.8) and slope rating (132). Rating 1(Poor) to 5(Excellent) Greens - 4.5 Fairway - 4 Rough - 3 Bunkers - 2 (heavy coarse sand) Scenery/Landscape - 4 Layout Challenge - 4 Difficulty Level - 4.5 Electric Buggy - 1.5 (It moves...) Changing Room - 3 Driving Range - 2.5 Club House - 3.5 Value for money - 5 (RM101 per person with twin-sharing buggy on weekdays for walk-in guests)

If golfing is the main goal, then this course is value for money. Weekdays fee is cheap , buggy fee included. Green is above average , speed adequate, fairways are good, buggy can go in most . The set back is that wild boars do damage to some areas of the course like apron around green and certain fairways. It's a perennial problem here but the staffs begin repairing them from early morning everyday. After game meal usually is found outside the club and there are plenty and delicious, of course all this is relative..
